Escaparate 2017 Runway: Architectural Neoplasticism

Between the space, jewelry and architecture is the name of Showcase 2017, a parade organized by the Chamber Design Center Jalisco Jewelry, which presents the most important jewelry trends in Mexico.

The challenge of each participating firm was to link the soul of their respective firms with the baggage of an architectural style. The artistic trend represented by Olavarrieta was Neoplasticism.

This current of European origin proposes to strip art of all elements to reach the essential; Thus trying to focus on the elemental and generate geometric shapes that catch the eye.

Based on these principles, designer Lissette Olavarrieta creates a constructivist collection but with a touch of history, by mixing ancient coins within geometric and linear structures.

Inspired by the buildings of Louis Khan, renowned architect of Neoplasticism, he chooses Indian coins as a representation of one of the most emblematic works of this movement: the Bangladesh National Assembly.
